Retiring my old minivan.

Sat Mar 21, 2009, 6:39 AM
Sooner or later this day would come. It just came sooner than expected. I've been driving my dad's old minivan for about five months, and have noticed that its habit of the engine shutting down at full speed has become more problematic lately. Well, the mechanics told me to bring it back to them if it did it again and I did just that. They can't diagnose the problem and told me that it's really too dangerous to take on the highway, or anywhere of any great distance. So, I'm driving it only in my local area, and good thing my work is two minutes from my house, so I can drive it there. But other than that, if I want to go anywhere and not worry about it, I have to get myself a better car. I'm going to do just that.

I have an idea of what I would like and as it turns out, the prices aren't too bad and the make and model I want is quite reliable. My sister has a Hyundai Santa Fe, and she says it's the best car she's ever owned. I'm going to go for the same vehicle. I've already enquired about how I could finance the car. I have money in a CD which more than covers the cost of what I want, and the rep said I could just take out the money from that. Better off, because I won't have to pay the fees for a loan because it's my money anyway.

Now for the next step.. To go to a Hyundai dealer, look around and test drive a few vechiles to see which one I like and want. This may happen within a few weeks, and once this does, my old Minivan will be forever retired. I salute the old van because it gave me a chance to get used to what it was like to drive a vehicle of significant size. Come to find out, The bigger the car, the more comfortable I am.

That's it for now. Time to do my homework.

Same to you. Sorry I didn't get back to you last night. Had an unexplained error pop up on my IE, and it shut me out of my browser. It was a minor one though, was able to correct it simply by restarting the computer.

Pc seems fine now. I think it was something that got picked up in another art gallery I belong to. It went away after the computer got restarted, and the scan showed up with nothing. Not one virus.
